This was from a long time ago, I think it's probably Boxee alpha that's working with Ubuntu 9.10. I know they just released Boxee 1.5, is that the version you're having problems with? Best thing to do is grab the path from the Boxee shortuct and run it in a terminal, it will probably show what the error is. I am using Ubuntu 11.10 and the latest boxee. Not matter what I do, I can't get boxee to open. It just bounces and then disappears. I am installing boxee via the software center.
