The screenshot shows you how to do that. Right click the project and open properties. You should then have something similar to the screenshot. You then need to add the path as shown in the screenshot. I’ve switched to Eclipse, so I’m not to familiar with Netbeans anymore but give me shout if you need any further help

Great tutorial…up until step 2.

‘Next I got NetBeans to recognise the Boxee api.’

Please explain how to do that.

It’s been a while since I wrote this and I must admit with the coding I’ve been doing recently for the xkcd app, using Netbeans has been real painful. I use VS2008 and resharper in the bulk of my work and coding with these is frictionless. I’m looking to change, so I’ll give Eclipse a spin.

Nice introductory article, thanks for that.

I use the PyDev extensions for Eclipse which have recently been fully opensourced – they are simply the best Python IDE solution out there, IMHO. Completion, refactoring, debugging, syntax colouring, formatting etc. Really really excellent.

Thanks for the heads up on the step 8. I tried setting that value to true and nothing appeared. I think I just need to spend a a little time to figure that out, so I can update the article.
UPDATE: Figured it out. Updated the article and removed step 8. Thanks.

Great tutorial! That’s a lot easier than using a word processor! Only issue I had is your step 8 is out of date now. That has changed to adding true to your descriptor.xml file and boxee will automatically add it.
